In distinction to the recognition for Service, this award recognizes excellence in the university’s “Engagement Initiative Program,” which is defined as a formal collaboration between the faculty and a local, regional or global community partner. The award recognizes the interplay among teaching, research, and learning. One award will be given.
Eligibility
Full time members of the faculty with at least three years of full time service before the year nominated.
For previous winners, at least five years must have lapsed before new nomination.
Documentation
Curriculum Vitae: CV of no more than four pages
Professional Statement: A statement of up to 500 words by the nominee that emphasizes, first the contributions of the faculty member and the community partner respectively, second the impact of the initiative on the constituent community as well as the university.
Engagement Statement: A statement of up to 500 words of the Engagement Initiative Project undertaken.
Supporting Letters: The file should contain three to five letters of support that speak directly to the candidate’s merit in the particular initiative.
The committee prefers substantive nomination letters from colleagues or supervisors, but in a university tradition, it also accepts self-nominations.
