This award recognizes excellence in teaching. Six awards will be given.
Eligibility
Full time faculty with at least three years of full time service before the year nominated.
For previous winners, at least five years must have lapsed before new nomination.
Documentation
Curriculum Vitae: CV of no more than four pages
Professional Statement: A statement of up to 500 words by the nominee of the qualities that most distinguish the candidate’s teaching accomplishments and record.
Supporting Letters: The file should contain three to five letters of support that speak directly to the candidate’s merit as an instructor.
Additional Data:
List of Courses: A list of the courses taught by the nominee in the three preceding academic years.
Student Evaluations: Copies of the formal university summaries from the Office of Planning and Institutional Research of student evaluations for courses in the same period.
Grade Distributions: Copies of the formal university summaries from the Office of Planning and Institutional Research of grade distribution in these classes in the same period.
Syllabi: Three representative syllabi from the same period.
The committee prefers substantive nomination letters from colleagues or supervisors, but in a university tradition, it also accepts self-nominations.
