Excellence in Research and Creative Activities
Description
This award recognizes excellence in scholarly achievement or artistic/literary accomplishment. Six awards will be given.
Eligibility
Full time faculty with at least three years of full time service before the year nominated.
For previous winners, at least five years must have lapsed before new nomination.
Documentation
Curriculum Vitae: CV of no more than four pages
Professional Statement: A statement of up to 500 words by the nominee of the qualities that most distinguish the candidate’s academic, literary, or artistic accomplishments.
List of Achievements: A list of the most important or representative publications, shows or other manifestation of scholarship or artistic achievement, with brief notation, where relevant of the importance of these venues. This list should not exceed four pages. It should emphasize the work accomplished while at FIU.
Supporting Letters: The file should contain three to five letters of support that speak directly to the candidate’s merit as a scholar or artist.
Optional Evidence: The file might also contain as many as five reviews or notices that confirm the merit of the nominee’s work.
The committee prefers substantive nomination letters from colleagues or supervisors, but in a university tradition, it also accepts self-nominations.
